Bhubaneswar, November 22, 2024: The Department of Philosophy at Sri Sathya Sai College for Women hosted a seminar on the profound topic, “Meditation: The Key to Lasting Happiness”. The event saw an enthusiastic participation of students, faculty, and esteemed guests.

The seminar began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness through knowledge, followed by the harmonious chanting of Vedic hymns that set a serene and reflective tone. Prof. Mrunmayee Rath, Head of the Department of Philosophy, welcomed the audience warmly, expressing gratitude for their participation and setting the stage for an enriching experience.

Prof. Archana Pattanaik introduced the esteemed guest speaker of the day, Sri Debashish Jena, a software engineer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bhubaneswar. Known for his expertise and personal insights into mindfulness practices, Sri Jena delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking talk.

In his address, Sri Jena emphasized the importance of mindfulness in daily life, advocating for mindful meditation as a practice that everyone, regardless of age or occupation, can adopt. He encouraged the students to dedicate just a few minutes each day to meditation, explaining how it could serve as a pathway to inner peace and lasting happiness.

The college president, Sri Sunil Kumar Rath, also addressed the gathering, urging students to embrace meditation as a tool for self-evolution and a balanced life.
