The Sri Sathya Sai College for Women, Bhubaneswar successfully organised a Short Duration Certificate Course on Holistic Personality Development from 7th to 15th November 2025. The programme was designed to cultivate value-oriented education, strengthen emotional and mental resilience, and nurture an integrated personality among undergraduate students. The entire programme was conducted in collaboration with the Sri Sathya Sai Centre for Human Excellence, Odisha, with active participation from distinguished resource persons, faculty members, and students.
Inaugural Day – 7 November 2025
The programme commenced with great spiritual fervor through Jyoti Avahana and Vedic Chanting, establishing a divine ambience.
Principal Dr. Niharika Das delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of value-based education in the modern era.
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Nayantara Chhotray, State In-charge, Sri Sathya Sai Centre for Human Excellence, followed by a motivating speech by Sj. Pratap Chandra Panda, District President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Bhubaneswar.
Guests were felicitated, after which Dr. Mrunmayee Rath, Reader in Philosophy, offered the formal vote of thanks.
The learning session of Day-1 was conducted by Dr. Priyambada Pattanaik, who spoke on “Personality Development – Facing the Challenge of Modernity”. The session included interactive brainstorming and discussion. The day concluded with a summarising remark by Mrs. Smita Biswal, Reader in Sociology, followed by the Shanti Mantra.
Learning Session Summary (08–15 November 2025)
Day 2 – 08 November 2025
The day began with Sahana Bhabatu followed by a welcome address by Mrs. Barsharani Ojha, Lecturer in Psychology.
A brief recap of the previous session was presented by Miss Swayamshree Ghosh.
The session’s theme – “Influence of Value System in Fivefold Personality Development” – was delivered by Prof. Debadatta Swain, Associate Professor, IIT Bhubaneswar. He explained how values shape physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions of personality.
After an interactive discussion and felicitation, the day concluded with remarks by Dr. Banaja Taldi and the Shanti Mantra.
Day 3 – 10 November 2025
The session opened with prayers and welcome note by Miss Aparna Patra, Lecturer in Political Science.
A recap of Day-2 was presented by Miss Lalima Priyadarshini.
Resource person Er. Satchidananda Nayak, State In-charge of Spiritual Exhibition, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, conducted an inspiring session on “Developing Will Power”.
Students interacted actively, followed by felicitation and concluding remarks from Miss Suvashree Mohanty, Lecturer in Odia.
The day closed with Shanti Mantra.
Day 4 – 13 November 2025
The fourth session began with the chanting of Sahana Bhabatu.
Dr. Aparija Mohapatra, Lecturer in Physics, extended a warm welcome.
The day’s theme – Performance Management: Conflict Resolution, Time and Stress Management, Leadership and Self-Help Skills – was facilitated by Sj. Harihara Padhi, State In-charge of Parenting Educational Wing, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation.
The interactive session enriched students with practical strategies to manage modern-day challenges.
Dr. Mousumi Madhusmita Pattanaik, Lecturer in Botany, delivered the concluding remarks.
Day 5 – 14 November 2025
The day started with a welcome note by Miss Sunita Naik, Lecturer in History, along with a recap by Miss Deeptimayee Maharana.
The theme of the session was “Interpersonal Relationship”, conducted by Dr. Ashok Kumar Hota, Deputy Director General, NIC Bhubaneswar.
He discussed communication barriers, emotional balance, empathy, and the holistic domains based on Sri Sathya Sai’s teachings (Sathya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema, Ahimsa).
A lively Q&A session engaged students effectively.
The guest was felicitated by Dr. Mrunmayee Rath, after which a short Certificate Test was held for participants.
The day concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Aruni Mishra and the Shanti Mantra.
Day 6 & Valedictory – 15 November 2025
The final session began with prayers and a welcome address by Dr. Diptimayee Sahoo, Lecturer in Odia.
A brief recap was presented by Miss Yashashree Nayak.
Resource person Dr. Umakanta Subudhi, Principal Scientist, IMMT Bhubaneswar, led a session on “Integration of 3HVs into Human Workshop”, emphasising the importance of balancing Head (Knowledge), Heart (Compassion), and Hand (Action).
He inspired students to develop willpower, hard work, and knowledge through the process of observing, absorbing, and preserving values.
A vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Pravati Panda, Lecturer in English.
Valedictory Ceremony
The valedictory session was graced by eminent speakers including Sj. Ramaballava Padhi (Chief Speaker), Sj. Sunil Kumar Rath, former President, G.B., and other dignitaries.
Students shared their enriching experiences from the programme.
Certificates were distributed to all participants who maintained full attendance.
Dr. Mrunmayee Rath delivered the final vote of thanks.
The programme concluded with the Sarvadharma Prayer and the Shanti Mantra, symbolising harmony and holistic well-being.
The Holistic Personality Development Programme successfully achieved its objective of nurturing physically strong, mentally balanced, emotionally mature, intellectually sharp, and spiritually awakened young learners.
The active involvement of resource persons, faculties, and enthusiastic participation of students made the programme highly impactful and memorable.
