As part of the national commitment towards eliminating tuberculosis, a TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Sensitization Programme was successfully organized on 17 December 2025 under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Bureau, Rama Devi Women’s University, Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with Sri Sathya Sai College for Women, Bhubaneswar.

The programme was graced by Sri Siba Prasad Ojha, State Programme Officer, TB Mukta Bharat Abhiyan, who served as the Chief Speaker. In his address, he emphasized the objectives of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) and highlighted the crucial role of youth participation through initiatives such as Ni-kshay Mitra in achieving the vision of a TB-free India.

A team of six NSS volunteers, accompanied by the Programme Officer, Ms. Bindulata Panda, Lecturer in Zoology, actively participated in the programme. The sensitization session focused on raising awareness about tuberculosis, its early symptoms, preventive measures, and the availability of free diagnostic and treatment services.

The session also highlighted the role of MY Bharat Volunteers in community engagement, patient support and handholding, nutritional and psychosocial assistance, and in acting as a bridge between Ni-kshay Mitras and beneficiaries. Interactive discussions and presentations motivated the volunteers to become proactive ambassadors of public health awareness.

The programme reaffirmed the commitment of NSS volunteers towards social responsibility and strengthened collective efforts towards realizing the goal of TB-Mukt Bharat.
