ational Science Day 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and academic spirit in the college campus. The programme aimed to promote scientific temper among students and to encourage innovation and creativity in the field of science.
The programme began with the arrival of the guests at 9:50 a.m., followed by seeking the blessings of Bhagawan Baba in the Prayer Hall at 9:55 a.m. The celebration formally commenced with the opening of the Science Exhibition at 10:00 a.m., where various innovative projects prepared by the students were displayed. The distinguished guests reviewed the projects and interacted with the participants at 10:05 a.m., appreciating the students’ creativity and scientific approach.
A high tea session was arranged at 11:00 a.m., after which the cultural segment of the programme began with a Welcome Dance at 11:10 a.m. The ceremonial Jyoti Avahan accompanied by Veda Chanting was conducted at 11:15 a.m., creating a spiritual and solemn atmosphere for the event. This was followed by the offering of saplings to the dignitaries at 11:20 a.m., symbolizing growth, sustainability, and respect for nature.
The Welcome Address and Guest Introduction was delivered by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Niharika Das, at 11:25 a.m., who warmly welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the significance of scientific inquiry and innovation among young minds.
The programme then featured the Keynote Address by the Chief Speaker, Dr. Debasis Dash, Director, Institute of Life Science, at 11:40 a.m. He spoke about the importance of research, scientific curiosity, and the role of youth in advancing science for societal development.
At 12:00 noon, the guests were felicitated by the Principal, Dr. Niharika Das, as a token of gratitude and respect. This was followed by a presentation by the Chief Guest, Dr. Niladri Roy (Scientist-G), ITR, DRDO, Chandipur, at 12:10 p.m., who shared valuable insights on scientific advancements and career opportunities in research and defense technology.
At 12:25 p.m., the college annual calendar “Mangal Pravat” and Scholarly Snapshots were officially released. The cultural segment continued with a graceful Odissi dance performance by a student at 12:30 p.m.
The programme proceeded with the Prize Distribution for the Science Exhibition at 12:40 p.m., recognizing the best projects and innovative ideas presented by the students. This was followed by the Prize Distribution for Cultural and Sports events at 12:50 p.m.
The event concluded with the Offering of Gratitude by Dr. Mousumi M. Pattnaik at 1:15 p.m., expressing sincere thanks to the guests, organizers, faculty members, and students for making the celebration successful. The programme ended with the recitation of the Shanti Mantra at 1:25 p.m., bringing the celebration to a peaceful and meaningful close.
