Day 1st (28-01-2026): Inauguration and Commencement of the Journey The Four-Day NSS Odisha Darshan & Youth Exchange Programme began on an auspicious note with a formal inaugural ceremony at Red Cross bhavan, Bhubaneswar. The programme was ceremonially inaugurated by our guests on the dais 1. Shri Surjyabansi Suraj, Our respected Minister of Higher education, Sports & Youth Services 2. Sri Kali Prasanna Mahapatra sir, Director of higher education 3. Dr. Ramesh Chandra Behera sir, NSS State Nodal officer 4. Madam Sarita Patel 5. Madam Smrutimmayee Rout 6. Sir Ajit Kushwaha They have enlightened us and motivated us for the camp and gave us opinion suggestions to make this camp a great success and fruitful. The inaugural session set a disciplined and enthusiastic tone for the days ahead, highlighting the objectives and values of the National Service Scheme In the evening, the team officially commenced the journey with breaking a coconut, symbolizing positivity, success, and the beginning of a sacred journey. It filled with excitement, anticipation, and a strong sense of unity. The first day marked the foundation of togetherness, teamwork, and commitment that continued throughout the programme. We had our dinner at Berhampur University followed by overnight journey on that night towards Koraput. Day 2nd (29-01-2026): Spiritual Exploration and Cultural Exposure The second day of the programme was dedicated to spiritual enrichment and cultural learning. We got freshen up & Meals for the day were arranged as per the schedule and locations provided, breakfast at Shahid Laxman Nayak degree college, Boipariguda, lunch & dinner at Govt. College Koraput where volunteers were warmly welcomed with respect and traditional hospitality. Each meal shared together strengthened bonding among the NSS volunteers. On this day, we visited several spiritually significant places: • Gupteshwar Temple, surrounded by natural beauty and serene caves, offering a deeply spiritual experience. • Hanuman Vatika, Damanjodi which inspired devotion and calmness & known for its scenic surroundings. • Sabar Srikhetra Jagannath Temple, which gave us insight into tribal culture and the inclusive spiritual traditions of Odisha. These visits enhanced our understanding of Odisha’s spiritual heritage while instilling values of faith, humility, and cultural respect. The unforgettable campfire night, filled with songs, smiles, and shared stories, stood out as the most emotional and memorable moment of the camp. Day 3rd (30-01-2026): Harmony of Culture and Nature The third day beautifully combined natural beauty with cultural harmony. Meals were served at designated locations as Breakfast at Laxmipur Degree college, Koraput followed by lunch at IGM College, Chandiput, followed by Formal welcome address and dinner at Berhampur University, and the welcoming gestures and collective dining experience added warmth and joy to the journey. The places visited on this day included: • Jiranga, a symbol of peace, spiritual harmony, and cultural coexistence. • Taptapani, famous for its natural hot springs, which offered relaxation and a refreshing experience amidst nature. This day allowed the volunteers to connect deeply with nature, understand cultural diversity, and appreciate the importance of harmony and coexistence. The day ended with enjoyable dance and songs filled with emotions and enjoyment. Day 4th (31-01-2026): Conclusion and Sacred Reflections The final day of the programme was both joyful and emotional. Meals were again arranged as per the given schedule, and each shared moment during breakfast at Berhampur University and it reflected the strong bond developed among the volunteers. and we departed for the journey after breakfast & lunch was arranged near Tara Tarini Temple. The places visited on the concluding day were: • Sunapur Beach, where the serene sea waves and peaceful atmosphere offered moments of reflection and relaxation. • Maa Balkumari Temple, which strengthened our spiritual connection. • Tara Tarini Temple, one of the most revered Shakti Peethas of Odisha, marking a meaningful and divine conclusion to the journey. As the programme came to an end, participants carried with them not only memories of beautiful places but also lessons of unity, discipline, cooperation, and service. The programme truly reflected the spirit of NSS — “Not Me, But You” — and will remain a cherished memory for a lifetime. At the end of the journey while returning our respected SNO Shri Ramesh Chandra Behera sir waited for our welcome even if we got late while returning from the camp.
