The Department of Zoology in collaboration with IQAC of Sri Sathya Sai (Degree) college for Women, Bhubaneswar organized a seminar on the Topic “Teratogenic Effects with special Emphasis on Alcohol” on 13/11/24. Major Manjushree Pati, former Principal Nayagarhh (Auto) College currently working as president, Bigyan Prachar Samiti Salipur Branch graced the occasion as chief Resource Person. Major Pati addressed gathering by giving valuable insights on different aspects of teratogenic effects giving special emphasis on consumption of Alcohol. She thoroughly covered the Pros and cons of consumption of alcohol for pregnant women and the possible harmful effect of alcohol with reference to planning and executing of pregnancy and advised the gathering to abstrain from consumption of alcohol specifically during pregnancy.
Dr. Umesh Chandra Pati, Ex-Principal Salipur (Auto) college graced the occasion as guest speaker. Dr. Pati by Providing an Economic consequence of consumption of alcohol advised students to have a scientific approach for leading life. Sri Sunil Kumar Rath President, GB addressed the gathering by advising them to inculcate lessons of science in ordinary business of life. Mrs. Bindulata Panda, HOD, Dept. of Zoology presented Guest introduction and Keynote address. Dr. Debjani Singh, Principal, felicitated the esteemed Guests by conferring a taken of appreciation. The meeting ended with a formal Vote of thanks by Ms. Swetapadma Patra, Student, Dept. of Zoology and the seminar was effectively hosted by Ms. Suchismita Rath, Student of Dept. of Zoology.
