In compliance with the guidelines issued by the Government of Odisha, Department of Higher Education, a Plantation Drive was organized under Vana Mahotsav Week 2026 on 7 July 2026 at the college campus. The programme was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit to promote environmental awareness and encourage tree plantation.

The programme was graced by Shri Sunil Kumar Ratha, Ex-President of Sri Sathya Sai Women’s College, and Smt. Jayashree Mahapatra, Director, Human and Legal Cell, as the Chief Guests. Dr. Niharika Das, Principal, presided over the programme. The event was coordinated by Smt. Bindulata Panda, NSS Programme Coordinator, with the active support of Smt. Barsha Rani Ojha, NSS Committee Member, and other NSS volunteers.

The Chief Guests emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and motivated the students to protect nature. The dignitaries, Principal, faculty members and NSS volunteers planted indigenous and fruit-bearing saplings across the campus. The volunteers enthusiastically participated and pledged to nurture the saplings for their healthy growth.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the NSS Programme Coordinator, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guests, the Principal, faculty members, Smt. Barsha Rani Ojha, and all NSS volunteers. The Plantation Drive strengthened environmental awareness and reaffirmed the commitment of the NSS Unit towards a greener and more sustainable future.
